Grief, Loss & The Holidays

This week we are talking about ways to cope better as service couples through the holidays. Many military and first responder families are separated during the holiday season due to demands of service to our community and nation. Many of our service families also carry grief and loss throughout this season for different reasons. Some have lost friends in the line of duty, many have lost their health due to disability, love ones pass away, their life is forever changed by these and other losses. Some people find talking to their pastor or counselor helpful in coping with loss. Others find volunteering their time rewarding and it helps in lifting their spirits during a difficult time in life.
